Two New Major Achievements in Tbong Khmum Province to be Officially Inaugurated in Early March

Tbong Khmum: On Friday morning, the Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister, You Sunlong, accompanied by the Governor of Tbong Khmum, Dr. Cheam Chansophorn, inspected the location and preparatory meeting for the official inauguration ceremony of the Cambodia-China Tbong Khmum Friendship Hospital and the Techo Sen Tbong Khmum Primary School-High School, which will be held in early March 2022 under the high presidency of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, the delegation of relevant ministries and institutions, the Deputy Governor, the Chairman-Deputy Director of the relevant departments around the province, as well as the leadership and medical team of the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital.

After inspecting the venue, Dr. Cheam Chansophoan presented the plans and arrangements for the inauguration ceremony in detail, outlining the ceremony design and safety measures to be implemented to the leaders and participants on the day of the celebration.

According to the Director of the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital in Tbong Khmum, Dr. Ek Kheang, the construction of this hospital started on 1 March 2019 under the high presidency of Prime Minister Hun Sen and was completed on 27 October 2021, with a budget of about US $50 million under a grant from the Government of the People's Republic of China.

The hospital area is 55,814 square meters and the building area is 24,300 square meters. The building is 24 meters high with five floors. The hospital is equipped with modern equipment, has a total of 300 beds and will provide services such as surgical treatment and general consultation, with a team of more than 400 specialists. The regional hospital is expected to cover some of the population of Kratie, Ratanakkiri, Stung Treng and Mondulkiri provinces.

In regard to the inauguration of Techo Sen Tbong Khmum Primary School-High School, the Director of Tbong Khmum Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sports, In Pov Sambath, has stated that this school has been temporarily opened for both primary and secondary education. There are two school buildings to be inaugurated, with three floors and 36 rooms, two office buildings with 10 rooms and two teacher dormitories with 40 rooms. The new school will accommodate up to 557 students and 18 teachers.
